9 Writing Assistant Apps to Help You Be a Better Writer

I make no qualms about it. I have never felt like I was a strong writer. Working with the written word was never my strong suit in school and don’t get me started on my lack of spelling skills. Had it not been for spell check and Google being invented, I would be sunk! Therefore, I am constantly searching for any application that can help me overcome my writing deficiencies. Without further adieu, here are nine writing assistant apps or websites to help you write better.

1) Grammarly

Grammarly is one of two on this list that I can highly recommend. Personally, I have a Premium subscription, and I don’t know what I would do without it. I also know several others here at Cube Creative use it as well.

A bit about Grammarly

Grammarly touts itself as a cloud-based software application for grammar checking, spell checking, and plagiarism detection.

With Grammarly, your writing becomes faultless and simple by eliminating minor errors such as including a hyphen, comma, capital letter, and so on. It also features an AI-powered writing assistant that assists you in writing properly, without errors and using succinct words at the appropriate times.

Not only that, but it also allows you to work on any platform without interruption and corrects you every time you compose emails, send a tweet, and so on. Grammarly's Chrome plugin is just excellent and lightweight for all of your writing requirements.

2) Hemingway App

If you want to increase the readability of your writing, Hemingwayapp is arguably the best software for the job currently available on the market. It is also one that I have personally used and still use and highly recommend to clients and friends.

The beauty of the site is that it assigns a readability rating to your content. Phrases marked in red are incredibly thick and overly complicated for the reader to comprehend; when a term is highlighted in purple, a shorter and much easier sentence may likely be used in its stead; and phrases highlighted green demonstrate a passive voice.

3) GrammarLookup

GrammarLookup uses artificial intelligence to check for spelling, grammar, and style errors; its user-friendly interface and an extensive library of grammar and punctuation checking capabilities make it a good proofreader.

The best feature of this tool is that it can be utilized online without any registration. Simply copy and paste the text, then click the Lookup button, and you're done!! You found the mistakes (grammar, spelling, and style flaws), so go through each one and repair them.

To make your writing better, you only have to pass it through the paraphrasing tool once. The tool will make different changes in the writing. As a result of these alterations, your content will made unique, compelling, comprehensible as well as interesting.

The rephrasing tool optimizes all of the above writing aspects by implementing the following changes:

5) ProWritingAid

ProWritingAid is similar to Grammarly in that it offers a variety of writing styles. You may select from various writing styles, such as blog posting, academic writing, business writing, or a basic general writing style.

Although the extension is free, the desktop version is not. However, this should suffice for Blogs, Email, and Facebook.
